I went in pretty skeptical, but my misgivings quickly dropped away fell away. Within minutes I was experiencing what VR cinema could do, and it felt natural, exciting and new. The story was engaging. The voice acting was top-tier, and the direction was immersive. Granted, I have nothing to compare it to here as this was my first piece of VR cinema, but it felt unique, fresh and immersive. There's just something to be said about being "in the scene" that at first felt intrusive to me. Being so close to the actors and literally “in the action”. This dropped away within the first five minutes as the story grabbed me. Now don't get me wrong here. When I say it felt intrusive I do not mean it was uncomfortable, and I'm not leveling it as criticism either. It's simply a new medium for me and it was my own mind that had to come to terms with it, and it was not something to blame on the developers.Needless to say, I'm glad I came across this piece and for the price it's unbeatable. I fully recommend it.. The 22GB download was a bit of a slap in the face. Also, keep in mind the scale of this show changes ( it is not life size ) . Sometimes it is small and sometimes the characters are large. The story was good, the ending dragged on a bit. Last gripe was that it's quite dark and for a younger audience ( 10 and under ) it might be a bit scary. Once the show starts though it's good and the production value is quite nice. I enjoyed the early chapters the most with the enviornments being interesting and the voice overs being very good. I got some performance stuttering towards the last scene as well for some reason (Vive Pro, 1.5ss, 1080 ti, wireless) but over all it was fine. I recommend it, it's a good sit down experience for the price.. Short but sweet.... Honestly, I think some of the other reviews overhyped this title. It is a great VR experience though and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys seated cinematic VR experiences. The voice acting and sound design is good (not amazing), but it's good. The story is just okay, it's relatively simple so don't expect anything fantastic when it comes to the plot. I definitely enjoyed the 35 minutes watching it though and I think the price to value ratio is spot on in comparison to going to the movies for $12-$20 (depending on where you go).The hair and physics I felt were pretty good. The "villain" character was pretty awesome too. There is this moving black type liquid and it's just really cool looking.TLDR: Just buy it. You will enjoy it. It will make you want more experiences at this quality level or better!. This was by far the best narrative experience I have had in VR yet. Clearly a lot of work went in to this. The visuals are great and the story itself is great. Some scenes evoke so much more awe in you than any flat screen can muster. I found myself continuously thinking "wow this is amazing" as I watched. I hope this style of story telling takes off, because I want to see a lot more of this.My only small gripes are that some scenes can unnecesarilly jump around a bit too much like it was still being viewed on a screen when they dont need to, and the last scene every time it changed settings back and forth there was a loading screen for a split second which kind of broke up the immersion. This was on I7-6700k, 1080ti and SSD.Otherwise amazing experience. I hope you make more like this, I will buy day one.Edit: Watched again with Pimax 5K+... amazing. Also all the loading issues have been resolved. Cant recommend this enough.. Finally! The very 1st, true VR Movie Story Telling Experience. Not a 360 video or a short stationary view into a virtual environment but a story presented through the power of VR using Cinematic techniques that bring you intimately into the world and characters. 5/5. Very ambitious concept with an attempt to demonstrate what cinematic VR films can be like. Good camera work, lighting and overall atmosphere. But notable its weakest link was in the many opportunities missed in expressing emotion in the characters facial animation. Early scenes suffered from feet clipping into the ground as well. A good soundtrack but again voice acting felt a bit lack lustre. I felt moments that were meant to have strong impact did not resonate with me because of the voice acting and facial animation. Overall I enjoyed it and would like to see more of this content in the future.. A great step forward in VR storytelling! Highly Recommended. In this 38 minute non interactive story every element comes together to form a very immersive and engaging experience. Starting with a strong foundation, a simple and straightforward base from Phillip K.♥♥♥♥♥♥ the same author of the book that was adapted into the Blade Runner classical movie. Then the great voice acting combined with the beautiful characters animations give you believable performances. The soundtrack was also very impressive. I'm a lover of movies and games soundtrack and this one really stands out with nods to the Blade Runner synths. I was pleasantly surprised when the Junkie XL name appeared in the credits, he is the author of the Mad Max Fury Road soundtrack. Tying up all the elements there is a great sense of direction, there's an innovative use of scale as a storytelling device. Also if you can I recommend to view it in Cinematic mode, with camera motions.Could have watched a full-feature animation.
